Welcome to State of SEEN the weekly newsletter about all things happening in the SEEN ecosystem.

Auction Recap

This week we made history by auctioning the world’s first real estate NFT!

In collaboration with Propy we have successfully auctioned the very first apartment on-chain for a final bid of 36 ETH. The owner can choose to move in, or rent it out. But what is even more exciting is that the NFT can be plugged into DeFi to take out a loan or to resell it in an instant!

Drop Preview

This week we are proud to host two amazing artists on the SEEN HAUS platform: Welcome Leegan Koo and Seamus Conley!

Leegan Koo

Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. In a fast-paced society, moving from city to city, most rarely takes a moment to discern the quirky side of life. In his later years, Leegan moved to San Francisco to attend Academy of Art University for formal training in different artistic styles. Leegan’s work is often a blend of classical timeless painting style with a splash of SpongeBob or includes Jack in the Box.

One of his accolades was being awarded first place in the Orange County Art Contest. A noteworthy collector of Leegan Koo is the famous Hollywood director, J.J. Abrams (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0009190/) who has directed Lost, Star Trek and Star Wars to name a few , has several of his pieces in his collection.

The chosen piece “Pikabob” of Leegan Koo was inspired by experimenting with swapping faces of well-known cartoon characters with various non associating places. Pikachu + SpongBob birthed “Pikabob” sitting inside SpongeBob’s shack, the Pineapple House. This can be purchased at https://seen.haus/drops/pikabob along with the countdown to grab one of these exclusive pieces. Both the NFT and physical product are shipped to your door across the globe.

Seamus Conley

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Seamus had no prior artistic training making his skill pure, raw and authentic. Not harboured by any artistic nor philosophical predispositions, gives his pieces an edge. His artistic flair is effortless and seamless, unlike any other and quite unique in his approach.

Seamus style tends to be an ethereal emotive expression often of one character in deep pondering moments, floating in the skies or looking beyond large landscapes. His work can be seen at www.seamusconleystudio.com/.

He is a renowned artist and has been featured in very prominent magazines like the San Francisco Weekly, Hi Fructose and the American Art Collector. One of his accolades was being awarded the Pollock-Krasner Award for his paintings. A noteworthy collector of Seamus is the famous writer, Danielle Steel who has written “The Gift” and “Changes”, has several of his pieces at her home in Paris.

The chosen piece from Seamus Conley’s artwork is titled ‘Clouded” , it combines imagery that reflects some sort of perceived reality with a balance of fantasy and imagination. A dual reality, where the question comes “Is the figure in this painting actually on the mountain peak surrounded by ethereal clouds or a scenario conjured up in his mind’s eye?” This piece evokes more questions than answers and keeps one engaged in the artwork.
