Welcome to State of SEEN the weekly newsletter about all things happening in the SEEN ecosystem.

Product

This episode aims to highlight our development roadmap and go into more details surrounding the V3 launch and the upcoming features that will be introduced to the SEEN HAUS platform. V3 is yet our largest platform update and will be mainly focusing on scaling and governance.

Due to the large number of updates, the entire release will be divided into partial releases over the course of the next weeks and months. The following should give an overview on the features themselves and their schedule.

V3 — Self-minting, royalties and reskin

Together with a website reskin, this first release will introduce our new NFT smartcontracts that will allow royalties to be collected. The release will also contain an interface that will allow digital artists to directly mint and list their own NFTs on the platform.
Initially, the SEEN HAUS foundation will be responsible for curating and whitelisting artists for self-minting. This process is going to be replaced by community curation.

V3 — Marketplace

Shortly after, we will be introducing our own secondary marketplace. All NFTs that have been minted based on our newly introduced royalty standard will be able to collect royalties on behalf of the artist when traded on the marketplace. It is also to be expected that platforms such as OpenSea will integrate the royalty standard, which will then allow the artists to collect royalties even outside our in-house marketplace.

V3 — Community Curation

The third and last major upgrade will introduce community curation, which will put the whitelisting process into the hands of the community / $SEEN holders. In order to do so, a snapshot inspired voting process will be implemented to approve any pending listing requests from digital artists.

Having those pieces in places, SEEN HAUS will be able to scale and increase the volume drastically, all while remaining fully curated and with fair royalties in place for artists.

Besides V3, we are developing a handful of additional features and minor upgrades to improve the UX of the entire platform:

Email notifications

Want to make sure you don’t miss a specific auction? Listings can be watched and emails will be sent to watchers if the listing receives a bid.

New Market Handlers / Auction formats

We’ll be introducing an OfferHandler, that allows users to get offered ETH for their minted tokens without needing to list them as an auction or an edition.

At the same time, we will be exploring new auction formats that can be applied when launching an auction, such as blind auctions or randomized drops.

Sponsored Listings

We’ll be setting up areas of the website which can be bought using Harberger Taxes (similar to how the banner can be bought at the ethtrader subreddit), an additional revenue stream for the staking contract and treasury.

L2 scaling

With the upcoming releases of various Layer 2 scaling solutions, we will do research in terms of L2 network deployment in order to reduce Gas prices.

Regarding release dates, we will be posting a follow-up in the upcoming episode of “State of SEEN” next week. This first overview aims to align the community with our vision for the platform.

Auction Recap

This week we featured NYC artist 1Penemy, who released his SOHO NFT SERIES and one of his signature mugshot pieces as a 1/1 physical.

Collectors of the entire 4-pieces NFT series will receive the 5th NFT of this exclusive collection as a reward.

The 30 x 40 inches large Christian Bale aka “American Psycho” mugshot piece is still available at https://seen.haus/drops/soho-lineup-american-psycho.

Drop Preview

This week we are excited to have 0xmons on our platform, collectors and fans of the cursed GAN monsters awaits an exclusive physical edition!

0xmons are scarce pixel monster NFTs created through a combination of machine learning and human creativity. They can be entirely encoded on Ethereum, and are not considered infohazards when collected one at a time.

In collaboration with SEEN HAUS, this is the first ever physical 0xmons card for M̷’̷ö̷r̷k̷, Maelstrom of Consternation, voted on by the 0xmons community and designed by makke.eth. Colorful, glitchy, and the first step of the invasion from the ethereal, digital world of the 0xmons to our physical one.

Title: 0xmons — M̷’̷ö̷r̷k̷
