BlockWallet & Donnoh

Background

BlockWallet has developed a unique Phishing Protection feature, which guards its users against phishing attempts. Most phishing attempts lead you to scam websites where they trick you into entering a seed phrase or password into a fake wallet, a replica of a genuine one. It isn’t always easy to tell the difference.

@Bantg brought up a solution that entailed implementing generative artwork for each user wallet. This way, users would always know that they interact with a genuine wallet by matching the artwork on a password page.

In collaboration with @lucadonnoh, a generative artist and CS student, BlockWallet included generative and unique artwork on all sensitive pages inside the wallet, which includes ‘Login’ and ‘Import/Export Account’ pages.

The major hurdle was to generate millions of unique variations that are different enough for the human eye to distinguish. With a lot of hard work, Luca Donnoh was able to create a codebase that met the requirements and produced both beautiful and functional artworks.

Luca Donnoh

Luca Donno is a generative and minimalist artist since 2019 and a CS student at University of Bologna. His works have been featured in exhibitions and galleries in New York, Milan and Turin. In February 2022 he launched zang.gallery, a text-focused NFT platform.

When asked to define his style, Donno confirms, “I started creating minimalist artworks as a personal challenge: how much can be removed from an object while keeping it recognisable? So, I created artwork like stack, river, woman and sunrise, where geometry became a very welcome necessity. Then I shifted my attention to representing emotions (anxiety, escape, calm, energy) and abstract concepts and ideas (identity, solar wind, creativity, destiny), while keeping my minimalist and geometric style.”

He is an established NFT artist with an impressive portfolio including two collections on Artblocks, check out his work at https://masterpiece.so/artist/1270

The collection created for BlockWallet’s anti-phishing feature is titled secret; a generative flow field study. Luca Donnoh handpicked 100 iterations of this collection to be sold as a collection exclusively on SEEN HAUS.

Cruel Coppinger

With a prolific collection of impressive work, Cruel Coppinger has been making waves as one of the hottest emerging artists of the Tezos community. Now on the Ethereum mainnet, Cruel is ready to impress collectors with his wide ranging skillset.

Cruel’s signature aesthetic is colorful and unpredictable glitch art which he combines with geometric shapes and photorealism to make provoking pieces of work.

His latest piece “My Glitched Synapsis” is a beautifully animated rendition combining visual cues from neuroscience and technology. The edition of 5 will be available on the SEEN HAUS digital marketplace tomorrow.

That’s it for this edition of ‘State of SEEN’. You can follow the project on Twitter, Discord, Telegram, and here on Medium.

See you next time!
