Welcome to State of SEEN the weekly newsletter about all things happening in the SEEN ecosystem

Product

In case you haven’t, make sure to check out State of SEEN #14 where we have outlined the timeline for V3 and additional features.

For our community to be able to follow the progress, we will continue releasing weekly development updates.

Development Update

As highlighted in State of SEEN #14 we have pointed out that the release of V3 will be rolled out in three modules. This week we want to announce that in order to launch V3 we will combine the first two modules (V3 — Self-minting, royalties and reskin and V3 — Marketplace) into a single larger release. The reasoning behind it is that we are currently working on on-boarding / whitelisting NFT artists for the V3 launch and based on the received feedback an already functioning secondary marketplace has a high priority among artists in order to be able to immediately collect royalties on secondary sales.

Combining those two modules will mean that the initial launch of V3 will be slightly delayed until the secondary market is finalized and we hereby announce that V3 will go live in the first week of November!

With only a few weeks left until the launch we will be also releasing walk-through videos within our community so stay tuned!

V3 development:

  • Wired frontend self-minting process to V3 contract deployment on Rinkeby
  • Set up new SEEN API endpoint to index and display Sales/Auctions on website once self-creation listing is complete
  • Set up SEEN API event worker to cache V3 Auction & Sale events
  • Configured SEEN API event worker to detect closed auctions & sales
  • Added distribution card to SEEN staking page to enable anyone to convert any accrued ETH into SEEN staking rewards
  • First round of audit adjustments made to V3 contract suite
  • Continued integration between frontend and V3 contract suite

Auction Recap

Last week we featured Stacey Lee Webber on SEEN HAUS with two of her amazing pieces of her stunning 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘽𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨 Series. Congrats to the new owner of those two amazing pieces of art!

Drop Preview

This week we are excited to welcome Aidan Rumack to SEEN HAUS!

Aidan Rumack

Aidan Rumack is a mixed media artist originally from Los Angeles, but living and working in Philadelphia. He graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art (PAFA) and his work can be found in numerous private collections around the US.

In 2018 Aidan was featured in “Plan B” pop-up at David Zwirner gallery (in place of Volta fair) and this year had a solo show at the Bertrand Productions gallery in Philadelphia. His work was also featured at the Art on Paper fair in NYC this September, and will be featured at Untitled fair during Art Basel Miami this December.

Aidan Rumack is a versatile artist that loves to use various mediums and techniques to express himself, ranging from roller painting to matchstick drawings or even objects such as egg shells. Exclusively on SEEN HAUS he will be releasing three of his unique artworks, which for the first time will come with an NFT pairing.

Match Strike (Burnout)

For this piece, Aidan screenprinted a mixture of ink and powdered glass in a dot pattern onto museum board, and then struck hundreds of matches across its surface. Each match creates a mark along its path as it ignites, the flame singeing a line into the board. Then the lines build up the drawing.

Title: Match Strike (Burnout)
Medium:
Match-strikes on rag paper with screen print ink and powdered glass
Size:
36.75” x 28.75” x 1.75”
Date: Tuesday, October 05
Time: 15:00 EST

Remnants (Gold) and Remnants (Red)

For those two pieces Aidan was working together with beekeepers to collect naturally deceased bees. He built a custom machine that individually encases bees into a separate bubble of a sheet of bubble wrap. Then he mounted the bubble wrap on a sheet of mirrored, colored acrylic and framed them.

The piece Remnants (Gold) contains an actual Queen Bee (marked with a yellow spot). It’s the only piece in this series that does.

Medium: Bees, bubble wrap, mirrored acrylic, custom frame
Size: 22” x 22.5” x 2.5” (framed)
